A Lister was formed in 1860 and in those days manufactured
ploughs and other agricultural implements. In 1909, with the help
of the Australian, James Davidson, Lister
produced its first sheep shearing machine. Today,

Shearing Equipment is the longest established sheep shearing manufacturer
in the world and the range of products soon included clippers for
horse, cattle and veterinary users.
Lister
Shearing Equipment is an independent UK company manufacturing their
products in Dursley, Gloucestershire. A complete range of shearing
and clipping machines and blades are exported all over the world
for use not only to shear sheep and clip horses and cattle but also
for goats, llamas, alpacas and pets.
Lister
Shearing Equipment sponsor many sheep shearing competitions in the
UK and have been the sponsor of "The
British Isles Shearer of the Year" for many years
and continue to promote and develop the art of shearing in the UK.
Lister Shearing Equipment also supply shearing equipment
to the British Wool Marketing Board.
Lister’s
long and proud history makes them uniquely placed to serve the needs
of worldwide shearing and clipping communities. In 1999, the company
introduced two new clippers to the range, one of which received
an IPC New Product Highly Commended Award at BETA 2000, the prestigious
equine trade event in the UK. The company intends to continually
support and promote shearing and clipping around the world as it
has done since 1909.
